Opening a business account: the steps and documents

What we ask for, why we ask for it, and how to get through verification without back-and-forth.

Volta serves registered businesses acting for their professional activity. Before any operation, we verify the company, the people who run it and the people who own it. This is a legal requirement, and it protects you as much as us.

1. Create your account

Sign up online with your company details and the name and position of the person who will sign the agreement. Your account exists from the first step: you can stop and come back later.

2. Send your documents

  • Company registration (for example the RCCM) and articles of association
  • Tax identification number (for example the NIU)
  • Recent proof of the registered office address
  • ID for each director and each beneficial owner
  • Information on the origin of funds and the payments you expect to make

3. Verification by our team

Our team reviews your file and may ask for clarification or an additional document. No operation is carried out until checks are complete. Sending a complete file in one go is the fastest way to get started.

4. Sign the terms online

Before your first quote, you sign our agreement and General Terms of Service online, once. A new version of the terms is accepted before your next operation.

Keep your information up to date: tell us about any change of director, shareholder or address.
