Fraud awareness
1. Fake change of bank details
A fraudster poses as your supplier, often from a hacked or look-alike email address, and announces a “new bank account”. Never change a beneficiary’s details on the strength of an email alone: call your supplier on a number you already know, not the one in the email.
2. Fake executive or fake Volta
Someone poses as a director of your company, or as Volta, and asks for an urgent, confidential transfer. Volta will never ask for your password, never ask you to transfer funds to an account other than the one shown in your platform, and never ask you to bypass your internal approvals.
3. Good habits
- Give each user only the role they need, and remove access when someone leaves.
- Check the beneficiary’s name, account and amount on the quote before confirming.
- Be wary of urgency, secrecy and last-minute changes.
- Keep your email accounts protected with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
4. If you suspect fraud
Contact us immediately through the platform or at info@voltasquare.com, with the operation reference. The sooner we know, the better the chances of stopping a payment. Once a payment has been executed it is irrevocable, and a recall cannot be guaranteed.
